About Me

I have had the unique opportunity to study healing from a variety of perspectives. From studying Psychology at contemporary universities to learning from Shamans and wise healers in the Amazon. What I have found through my journey is that integrating modern psychotherapy modalities with ancient healing techniques can have a powerful effect on the mind, body, and soul.

I know that many individuals have survived a variety of difficult life experiences. With my understanding of neurobiological responses to trauma and stressful life events, I am able to incorporate the body into the psychotherapy process to facilitate whole body healing. Although many psychological symptoms manifest in similar ways for people, I believe each individual is unique, and that individuality is the priority of my treatment approach.

My treatment philosophy is firmly rooted in Humanistic Psychology. I operate under the belief that given the right environment; we can reach our full potential. I aim to create this environment for my clients. It is in this sacred environment that I then infuse a broad range of clinical interventions to help tap into the mind-body's inner wisdom to release the old and integrate the new. I deeply believe that we are wired to heal, given the right tools we can harness this innate ability and live vibrant, healthy lives no matter what our life history is.

Biography: I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the State University of New York. After that, I went to Nova Southeastern University, where I received a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. It was at Nova University where I began my studies in trauma and PTSD. My first graduate level internship was at a treatment center for survivors of abuse. There I gained tremendous education and clinical experience in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma related work. I saw firsthand that talk is often not enough.

This work led me to continue my education at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy where I received a post-graduate certificate in Trauma Studies. I have since completed a variety of clinical trainings such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Somatic Experiencing, Internal family Systems, Sensori-motor Psychotherapy, Energy Psychology, Hypnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, and Mind-Body medicine.

After that I completed a PhD. in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University. My research there focused on the exploration of an integrative treatment approach involving energy psychology and hypnosis on sexual assault specific PTSD. It is my hope the learning and research I continue to explore will help me to strengthen my ability to meet my client's needs, which has always been my top priority.
